China-Nigeria energy talent co-cultivation sets out on a new journey; PCCS taps international markets with its technology integration capabilities.
Tianjin, China, July 27, 2026 – The "PCCS Natural Gas Project Industrial Technology and Operations Management Training Program", initiated and organized by PCCS, officially opened at the century-old prestigious Tianjin University. Senior officials and industry representatives from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF) are receiving an intensive, six-day technical training focused on the entire natural gas industrial chain. This initiative not only marks another milestone in PCCS's deep involvement in Africa's energy development but also highlights its exceptional ability to integrate world-class academic and industrial resources, delivering one-stop technical solutions for international clients.
At the opening ceremony, representatives of the program organizers — Yang Hongtao, General Manager of Peiyang Chemical Equipment CO.,Ltd. And Wang Lin, Project Director— joined Professor Yuan Xigang from the School of Chemical Engineering at Tianjin University and Cheng Leiming, Vice Dean of the School of Distance and Continuing Education at Tianjin University, in warmly welcoming the Nigerian participants.
In his speech, Vice Dean Cheng Leiming systematically introduced the university's educational philosophy of "inheritance, innovation, and responsibility" and stressed that the university would allocate its best educational resources to this university-industry collaboration to ensure training quality. He noted that this training is a key initiative under the Belt and Road energy cooperation framework, aimed at cultivating high-end international energy talents, and he looked forward to the participants applying what they learn to advance their country's industrial upgrading.
Speaking on behalf of the organizers, Yang Hongtao shared our firm commitment to supporting local energy development, drawing on his extensive experience at Nigerian oilfield sites. He pointed out:
"We provide not only advanced technical equipment but also a systematic transfer of the entire knowledge chain — covering engineering design, operations management, and industrial planning — to our partners. This is the core value that sets us apart from ordinary suppliers: we inject sustainable, localized capabilities into projects."
He expressed hope that this meticulously designed training would help Nigerian colleagues build a modern natural gas industry knowledge framework, laying a solid foundation for deeper bilateral cooperation in broader fields.
A representative of the Nigerian trainees thanked PCCS and Tianjin University for their thorough organization and solemnly pledged full commitment to the learning process, vowing to bring cutting-edge knowledge back home to genuinely enhance the regulatory and operational capacity of Nigeria's natural gas industry.
The training content comprehensively covers core topics in natural gas development and utilization, from industrial process engineering design to modular refineries, delivered by a faculty comprising senior professors from Tianjin University's School of Chemical Engineering and veteran engineers from PCCS. This reflects PCCS's strong capability in technical integration and resource mobilization for natural gas projects.
By investing proactively in Africa's energy future, PCCS is setting a benchmark for building a more efficient and sustainable new paradigm of international energy cooperation. With the smooth launch of this first training cohort, a bridge linking China and Nigeria in energy technology cooperation has been firmly established. We look forward, through such pragmatic and in-depth systematic empowerment, to joining hands with more global partners to advance the progress and prosperity of the energy sector.
